1. Something Fun: Family Karaoke Night Ideas

Let your inner performers shine!

Are you looking for fun family activities? Family karaoke night is a great way to let your inner performers shine. Plus, it's a budget-friendly family activity. Click through family karaoke night ideas and other quick ideas for building a stronger, happier family from www.lovinlifewithlittles.com. #fridaysfastfive #happierfamily #strongerfamily #parentingtips #intentionalparenting #familyfirst #familiesareforever #quickparentingtips #familyactivity #familykaraokenight

It’s always fun to simply crank the music up and sing along to your family’s favorites. Throw in some impromptu dance moves, and it’ll be a blast.

However, make a few simple additions and everyone really feels like the star of the show.

Family Karaoke Night Ideas

  • Use a karaoke app.
    • There are so many karaoke apps right now. Many you can download and try for free (typically with limited songs/functions or with a free trial). Smule is a fun one because it has a bar showing if your voice should be higher or lower, and it will give you a score after singing. Karaoke by Yokee is another app that allows you to record video and audio with fun effects. Both of these let you connect and share your songs publicly if you want to (which I’ve never done).
  • Use YouTube.
    • This is my favorite because it doesn’t require trials or figuring out a platform, you can cast it onto the TV if your TV has that option, and you can find virtually any song. Simply search the song title followed by karaoke. Sing King has a lot of great options, including a Disney Karaoke Playlist perfect for kids.
  • Add fun lights.
    • Put up a string of colored lights or download a simple strobe light app that turns your phone into a blinking furry of fun.
  • Use a microphone.
    • Even if you make your own pretend mic from a toilet paper tube or hairbrush, a microphone makes everything more fun.

You can purchase a wireless karaoke microphone or a full karaoke system. Both of these connect with a tablet or smartphone for endless karaoke options.

2. A Little Lesson: My Oath of Office

This is a fun way to talk about personal responsibility.

If you're wondering how to teach kids about personal responsibility, this post gives you a fun idea! Talk about what an oath of office is, and then write your own oaths of office. Click through for this and other quick tips for busy parents about building a stronger, happier family from www.lovinlifewithlittles.com. #teachingkids #intentionalparenting #parentingtips #learntogether #familylessons #lessonaboutsportsmanship #personalresponsibility

Talk about how an oath of office in government, law, medicine, or other professions helps describe what the person promises to do. It outlines some of the personal responsibilities of the person.

Are there promises you want to uphold as a family? What are the personal responsibilities for each family member during this stage of life? If desired, have each family member write an “Oath of My Office.”

Wondering how to fit Little Lessons into your busy family schedule?

3. A Service Idea: Give a Massage

This idea is not everyone’s favorite, but for those who appreciate it, it’s a great service.

Are you looking for family service ideas? One great service idea is to massage a family member's feet or back. Massage a family member’s feet or back. You can do a massage train or take turns giving each other a back massage.

4. Something Random: Pictures

It’s a great find when I need more storage on the phone quickly.

Do you have a system you love for organizing, storing, or printing pictures? If so, I’d love to hear about it!

5. A Quick Tip: Self-Care

What do you need to be healthy and happy? How are you making those things happen? Because you and your family are worth it.

Last week we talked about how to set fitness goals as a busy mom. Movement is a really high-bang for your buck self-care idea. Personal quiet time and connecting with others round out what I call The Big Three.

But sometimes there’s a lot of guilt associated with self-care. The truth is that when we practice meaningful self-care it’s good for us and good for others.

  1. I love the idea of family karaoke night! I don’t think my kids would be into it though. Booo on them! We are all very much touchy people in my house though and we often can be found sitting in a train on the couch giving each other foot massages! It is good stuff! Your mom meme totally cracked me up! Thanks for linking with me, Marielle!
